Baw-Bawon, The Hidden Island

Far from the knowledge of a regular tourist is the Island of Baw-Bawon in the Municipality of Plaridel, Misamis Occidental. It is so hidden in a thick Mangrove Forest that the only access to the island is through a small paddled boat or "bangka". There are no inhabitants in the Island, no electricity and no running water which means you have to bring the very basic of necessities.

My adventurer friends from Germany, Stefi and Basti

The Food, it's either you will bring one or eat whatever the local fishermen catch for the day.

Our Food for the Day...

This is not the first time I marked my footstep on this Island, I was here when I was 7 years old with my family and it is so amazing how the local government managed to maintain the natural ecosystem of the island. Kudos to them !!!
Yes we are...happy :)

There's a lot of story this tent can tell....

Samal Island, Davao

A quick weekend trip to Island Garden City of Samal with my BFF. The last time we were here was 7 years ago before I left for Dubai. Thanks to our Nanay who owns a house in this small island...our accommodation is always free and will always be free. That's why it's called the best thing life right? Lol

The last time were here, we went to Sanipaan or the Vanishing Island then to the Bat Cave. This time we want to experience the adventurous side of the island. So to fill up our hungry souls' thirst for a little adventure, we went to Maxima Aqua Fun.

Baliangao's Little Secret

No this is not Laiya in Batangas as one of my friends tried to guess it. It is Misamis Occidental's own little piece of paradise. It is located in the Town of Baliangao approximately 100 kilometers from Ozamis City.

The Majestic Islands of Dinagat

This travel is by far the best island experience I've ever had in my entire existence. There are no resorts, transportation throughout the trip is just the basic without any touch of luxury. The boat is just big chunk of tree turned into something that would actually float considering the open sea of the Pacific.

But as i go along my 4 hours boat ride from Surigao City Wharf to Libjo, Dinagat Island, you will never notice the unglamourous boat that you're in, but instead the magical islands that will surely welcome you.

Thank God !!! In the 3 days of our stay in Libjo(Albor), weather is on our side, no storm coming and the sea just so calm you can actually spend the whole day basking around. So Island hopping is the next best thing to do....

Just Pure Tranquillity

No wonder i keep on coming back to this place. I come here almost every year before i decided to transfer here in Manila to continue my studies. But guys, it is best to come here during summer months...It's facing the Zeus of all Oceans right? "El Pacifico" as i call it !!! LoL

For everybody's information, there are no hotels or Inn around Libjo(Albor) and the place is so laid back and simple but it's one of the most perfect place for me to spend a day or 2 or even a week and cutting any connection to life's modernity. I'm just so lucky i have an uncle there so i can stay there as long as i want.

Ciao !!!

My Iligan, My Home

To kick off this blog, i will definitely start with my Hometown, Iligan City.  It is located North of the Island of Mindanao approximately 800 kilometers southeast of Manila. It is a highly urbanized city with a population of more than 300,000 and with more than 11 major industries scattered within its perimeters. It is popularly known as Industrial City of the south and being more popular now as the City of Waterfalls with 23.

Iligan City has gone through a lot of changes. I was born, raised and got my education in this city(except college). I can still remember when we used to ride the "tartanilla" or kalesa as it is popularly known. Now there are only few left. Waterfalls is still one of the best resources i'm proud of my city. The mighty Ma. Cristina Falls that generates power in the whole Island of Mindanao. The relaxing Tinago Falls and the rest of the 21 waterfalls that cascades around the city is still the best places to go on a nature trips and hikings with friends.

The Food??? nothing beats our lechon here...that's it!!!

I'm staying in Manila for almost 2 years now and being away from home makes me appreciate more the place where i grew up, where good memories with my family and friends were forever kept, where remnants from my past is still deeply intact and where the memories of my late mom still exist in every corners of our home, in the places she used to serve and to the people she made happy.
